There was so much going on at the Christmas Fair this year.   We had some amazing games  stall run with help of the local 25th Purley Scouts group.

We had, Face Painting and Glitter tattoos, 3 different Tombolas, a seasonal Craft room with Fossil sets too!  Our now famous refreshments included Sandy’s Thai curry, hot dogs with real sausages, Turkey baps and more as well as a packed Pavilion with hot drinks and cakes.  The prizes this year were plentiful and spread across the fantastic raffle and Christmas Tree game.  The Choir performed at 1.30 and our fabulous KS2 teachers ran a Karaoke and Photobooth room with some great dressing up fun!  And thats not even mentioning our beautiful Santa’s Grotto….

Thank you to all who helped and supported!

Easter Egg competition 2014

The children came up with some fantastic creations for the Key Stage 2 Easter egg competition. We managed to grab a few photos of them on display in the KS2 hall and you can view them here

Winter Wonderland Fair 2013

The 2012 Winter had lots of new stalls selling great gifts for Christmas including out Granny stall which had items donated from pupils grandmothers and one of out TAs mum and aunts who created all sorts of handicrafts including knitted and sewn items.  They raised £170 for us!  The Santa’s Grotto looked fantastic and our parent photographer Peter did a great job capturing the special moments when the kids met Mr FC himself.  The food, provided by Sandy and crew from the kitchen was yummy and the Pavilion cakes and goodies went down a storm.  Thank goodness the weather didn’t, it was touch and go for a while!  Thank you to all of our fantastic volunteers who helped organise and run the day.

Summer 2013

Summer Fair – Saturday 22nd June

After the delayed set up due to Britain’s changeable climatic conditions, the day was actually DRY!!  It was windy, but after the forecast we couldn’t have hoped for better weather.  Our volunteers were fabulous, the food was delicious (and polished off I might add) and the field activities, stalls and games all good fun.  The Fire Brigade brought their engine, a great attraction, and if the kids weren’t drumming, playing tennis, zorbing, throwing crockery or coconuts or having face, nails or arms painted I don’t know what they were doing!

Spring 2013

Mother’s Day Flowers – Friday March 8th

This year we asked for Mother’s Day money in advance to help with the ordering and organisation for volunteers.  This didn’t quite work but we did get some money in advance.  As always though, the planted flowers and personalised labels were hugely popular and we hope all the mums, grandmas and other special ladies enjoyed them!

Quiz Night – Friday 15th March

Quiz Night was on March 15th and everyone seemed to have a great time.  We had pie, chips and veg with cake of dessert and lots of team prizes after each round.  our Quiz Master Dave was very organised and we loved the mid-round challenges.  Really nice to have an adults only night out .  A huge success!

Winter Wonderland Fair 2012

With lots of hard work, organisation and enthusiasm from from our Fair Sub-Committee and fantastic volunteers (parents, carers, friends and family) the school was transformed for an afternoon with lights, funfair, market stalls, games and great food and drink.  The Rugby was on in the Pavilion for those who couldn’t stand to miss it and Santa’s Grotto was beautifully decorated for the many children booked in to see the big man himself.

The Choirs from KS1 and KS2 sang like true angels and really put us in the mood for Christmas.  Other activities included our Insect Room, Craft Rooms.

Summertime Events

The Summer Fair was fantastic this year.  We had colourful class stalls with some great games and fabulous artwork by the kids.  We had Chewie the Chewitsaurus open the fair with the kids in fancy dress and Inspirational Rhythm Drumming to their hearts content.

There was a great range of activities for all ages including tennis, zorb racers, bungee trampolines and inflatables.  The refreshments were plentiful and there were great performances from the school choirs – thanks to Mr Regan- and various clubs including South Indian Dancing and Karate.  Even the weather stayed dry for us all day!

The raffle was very popular although we didn’t have time to draw the winners until the very end of the fair our wonderful First Aider Maddy from St John’s Ambulance picked all thirteen or so winners from our huge box of tickets. It was prizes galore as even some of our stalls had prize draws with giveaways like Champagne, Manicure vouchers and Kids Space Passes.

The field activities went down a treat with the zorb balls pleasing young and old alike.  Other field activities such as Dodge the Teacher kept Mr Pringle happy (well, what teacher wouldn’t love the chance to spray paying kids with a humungous super soakers) until his arms started to ache with all the hand work!

We had over 170 staff, parents, carers as well as extended family helping out on the day.  They all did a fantastic job and from what I hear can’t wait until we do it all again next year!! The fair had a lovely community feel so Friends of Woodcote Primary School extend their thanks to everyone who attended and made it such a great afternoon.
