Woodcote Talent Showcase

Date: May 2, 2018 Author: Nick Browne Categories: Fundraising, Upcoming Events

This year, we are looking for 10 varied acts to appear in our Showcase at the Summer Fair on Saturday June 23rd.  The showcase will take place from 1pm to 2 pm, in the new outdoor amphitheatre space in the KS1 playground.  Please note that participating pupils will be expected to commit to being involved for the whole hour!

To check if your child’s act is suitable please take a look at the performance space (and the slightly uneven ground) for exampleif considering a gymnastic/acrobatic act.

Auditions will take place on Friday 25th May and for year 2 upward, acts which are no longer than 5 minutes.  We aim to audition as many people within the time available but if the number of acts needs to be limited this will be done by random selection.

After the audition, participants will either be invited to perform for their class or for the Summer Fair.  Those invited to perform at the fair will also have a rehearsal in the afternoon of May 25th, where they will work with a professional theatre director!

If your child would like to audition, please complete the form and return a printed copy to the School Office c/o Mrs Baldock by Friday 18th May.  Unfortunately children will not be able to audition without a signed form.

For their auditions, children will need to be in costume and with full props.  Music must be an MP3 file, brought in on a memory stick.  The act, costumes and props shown at the audition must remain the same for the performance.

We look forward to seeing some great variety performances at the Woodcote Primary Summer Fair this year!
